Our Daily Breach 2024/10/21
FBI hacker 'USDoD' struggles with his own data breach. I mean... it's kind of funny.
No one likes getting their personal information exposed to the internet. Especially people who have been caught infiltrating the FBI threat intelligence platform InfraGard and exposing its 80,000 members to anyone that had $50,000 lying around. That same person was also responsible for the data broker National Public Data (NPD) leak in 2024. Despite the fact he leaked pretty much everyone else's data, 33-year old Luan "USDoD" L.B. had this to say about his own data breach in a statement to hackread:
“So congrats to Crowdstrike for doxing me, they are late for the party, intel421 Plus and a few other companies already doxed me even before the Infragard hack. I want to say thank you, it is time to admit I got defeated and I will retire my Jersey. Yes, this is Luan speaking. I won’t run, I’m in Brazil, the same city where I was born. I am a huge valuable target and maybe I will talk soon to whoever is in charge but everyone will know that behind USDoD I’m a human like everyone else, to be honest, I wanted this to happen, I can’t live with multiple lives and it is time to take responsibility for every action of mine and pay the price doesn’t matter how much it may cost me. This is not my end. Thank you, see you around. Don’t worry Brazilian authorities, I’m coming to meet you, I’m not a threat, in fact, I can do much for my country.”
Not jealous at all that he didn't message Our Daily Breach. EVERYTHING IS FINE.
After announcing retirement, Luan had given up a life of cybercrime for a whole four days going right back to publishing exploits for Wordpress. He was arrested shortly after this by Brazilian authorities.
The full story covered by KrebsOnSecurity & Databreaches.net are fascinating reads, as they both had private exchanges with "USDoD" on Telegram. Again, not at all jealous but if any hackers want to reach out and tell your side of the story you can always reach out to us at Our Daily Bread by messaging murdoc at 32x32.institute
